It definitely works at curving your shot in whatever direction you want.  BOLT-ACTION BLASTER FIRES ROUNDS AT 90 FPS. So be careful at what you aim this at! INCLUDES 12 ROUNDS. I would definitely recommend this nerf gun it's lots and lots of fun even for adults. Be safe folks..

It's Nerf or Nothin' So much fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This nerf rival curve shot sideswipe is very fun to play with. It is easy to load and even has a safety switch on it. It can easily be used by a right or left hand person. It was bigger than I expected so that was great. It can really pack and punch and it shoots far! My favorite part is all the curve settings that it has. It adds a surprise feature that other nerf opponents do not expect. Very happy with this nerf gun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids have owned many Nerf guns. This is certainly the most interesting one. It uses soft high impact balls. Its ready to go right out of the box. The loading process is very easy. This is definitely for older kids and require little bit of strength to cock the gun. The balls have petty good velocity and is fairly accurate. I am kind of amazed by the directional firing. The shot curves down and in both directions but the curve is not sharp as 90 degree angle. Overall this is one of the best nerf guns we have owned.

its really powerfull and extremely cheap i would definitely recommend. just note the the build quality feels pretty cheap.

Pros : Lots of ammo to work with, shoots accurately* on 'normal', fully ambidextrous, pretty comfortable to operate.

Cons : Curve is not as dramatic as you might expect (It -DOES- work, it's just subtle), priming action is oddly 'rough'.

Of note : It's possible to get a slight 'curve' out of -any- RIVAL gun by rotating it before firing since they all have a backspin bumper, but this will curve more since the backspin arm actually comes down to apply more force when you rotate the barrel for curved shots. It is hard to tell at short range that it's doing anything, but at longer ranges the curve is very much there and noticeable.

The curve is EXTREMELY noticeable if you tell it to curve a shot down, but I have yet to figure out the value of making a shot drop like that.
