This is packaged very well. Arrived quickly. Box design is bright, colorful, and GIves a lot of ideas. We laid everything out on an old cookie sheet as a work surface to avoid mess and used a baking apron to protect our clothing. Comes with plenty of materials small size tips which makes it easier to do details. I would note a little goes a long way. The thicker you make each co!or, the longer the drying time. 12 sun catchers, 12 suction cups, 1 glitter paint, every kid loves glitter, 4 tubes of window paint. 1 cord 3 yards, 1 acetate sheet which is used with the window paint set, 3 tubes of window paint, easy to follow instructional ideas book. After she filled each, we left it dry right on that same cookie sheet overnight. In the morning she hung them on the patio door. Once all said and done my daughter loved this project. Spent hours reading, crafting, drying, then hanging and arranging. Doesn't have to take that long but we took our time to really get each color just right. Perfect activity for anyone to keep them busy, get creative, then to be able to hang them and enjoy the many colors come to life. Really not all that messy, easy to clean. Easy to control how much comes out of the tubes so it helps keep things clean. A project that never gets old! Perfect even as an entire family project! Give it as a gift. Perfect project really if you ask me. Way more fun then painting, less mess afterwards.

My daughter loves this!

Absolutely wonderful idea for young and old. I had such a joyous time for hours with my four year old granddaughter. When little ones are painting they like to Load the paint and we found that is better for this type more color is best as they dry the paint turns clearer like stained glass. I am including a photo and all were covered in paint to the point where you saw no lines and when it dried they were gorgeous. A four year old painted all of these

Absolutely a must for young and old so much fun

I chose this product to receive as a Walmart Spark reviewer to test out and give my honest opinion. I really loved this Stepping Stone kit as a creative project to do with my 11 year old daughter- ours came out PERFECT.
I read thru the directions, got all the necessary pieces together, and set up.
First, I used the cardboard INSERT box, not the outside product box, as my work area (it opens up flat). I filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of roomish/a little warmer water since the directions said to start with one cup of water and have one cup on hand to add as needed. My daughter put on the cute little "surgical looking" protective mask and the WAY too big for a kids hands plastic gloves. Directions say to use a disposable bowl to mix the water and plaster (NOT in the provided round molding tray!). I don't have disposable bowls so I took a plastic bowl I had and put a gallon size freezer bag opened in it- this worked awesome to mix the water & plaster together! I poured the cup of water in first as directed, then half the bag of plaster as the directions said (then it says to continue adding the mix and water as needed to get a "cake batter" consistency) but it was watery enough with just the one cup of water so I just kept adding the plaster and mixing (I used the provided stick but also we used our hands on the outside of the bag to smoosh it all together well and quickly :). When it was the right consistency, it was so EASY to just pour the mixture out of the end of the bag, into the mold, without any mess. We tapped the mold to pop any air bubbles that might have been on the bottom (we didn't lift the mold to look). Using the heavy cardboard insert as our work surface was also a great way to be able to lift and transport our stone safely to the dining room to dry without handling the still liquidy plastic mold itself. We waited about half an hour for the mold to set a little bit so we could make my daughters hand print in it- again, this worked perfectly! It was also the right consistency to stick some of the gems in the moist plaster to make them stick in it (and have the plaster harden around them to hold them in) and decorate it. It's been almost 8 hours since we left it to dry, and I can see that it is dry, but my daughter is asleep now so I'll wait for her till tomorrow to do the paint decorating part herself.
My only minor criticisms: 1) smaller plastic gloves included for kid size hands (the big ones should still be included for the "adult supervisor" :) not that we really seemed to need them. 2) Maybe include a freezer strength, gallon size bag for mixing or inserting into a bowl as we did instead of hoping people have a disposable bowl or wrongly think they should use the decorative plastic mold to mix in. 3) Lastly, more than one plastic molding tray. We would've loved to have done at least 2 stones at a time instead of waiting 8+ hours to re-use the only one provided, especially since there is enough bags of plaster to do 4 stepping stones, it would be nice to be able to do all four at once if you want to make them as gifts. I'd rather even pay a little more to have an extra molding tray included (since this kit is so cheap in price anyway). All in all I would definitely buy this kit for my daughter to make more stones to give as gifts and even to give the kits themselves as gifts to others.

Great keepsake project

I love this little window art set. Since I don´t have any kids in the house now, I did this myself.
It is very easy to paint these sun catchers as all you have to do is fill in the dips.
Everything is provided.
The myriad of colors provided come in easy to squeeze bottles and they are a genorous amount in them, not stingy at all.
Just let them dry over night and hang them!
Mine did not take that long to dry as I laid them in the morning sun.

The string that comes with it to hang the sun catchers was a bit hard for me to tie a knot into because it is like fishing line, but it is necessarily sturdy in order to be able to hang the sun catchers in place from the provided hangers.

This box set would be an ideal gift for anyone of any age I think.
I enjoyed myself immensely as I have not done any sort of crafting for quite a while.
It was very relaxing.

I know children would love the challenge and fun of this set. It would make an ideal birthday or Christmas gift. There is nothing like a bit of old fashioned art fun and this set is perfect for it.

Sun catchers add such a cheery atmosphere to any window and room.

Sunny Windows

this window art set has an ample supply of items to do your project from beginning to end.
the box comes with 12 suncatchers and 12 suction cups with a small amount of clear line to
be able to hang up the finished project. also 1 glitter paint, 7 tubes of window paint,
1 acetate sheet and an easy to follow instruction booklet. inside this booklet has a few
pages of black lined shapes that you can place your acetate onto and trace the design. let
dry overnight and then you can peel off a backing and place it on the window. it is removeable
and can replace it on another window without damaging the acetate.
the paint stains the skin. im not sure about clothing, but if it does that to skin, then
surely any surface would get stained as well.
my 8 year old granddaughter enjoyed painting these suncathers. and i liked it for her
because it was a simple project, something that a child her age doesnt have to stress hard to
think if she can or cant do it. the shape and separations on the shape are already there to
prevent overflow from one color paint to the next.
tip#1
squeeze out a small amount first. then stop squeezing. use the tip of the bottle itself to
further move the paint around in its area. only sqeeze again if it runs out of paint when moving
it around.

have your child wear clothing protection, apron or large old t-shirt

hand sanitizer will help remove SOME of the staining on skin or carpet, along with a baby
wipe.
this easy project is simple enough to help the child feel more independent. its something
they dont actually need help to accomplish. just applying the amount.
great for a fun weekend project for either boy or girl. with the acetate, you could
make your own design and trace it, then paint it, dry it, then place it. so pretty in the window.

WINDOW ART activity kit *****

The quality is great. Kid friendly and the paint didn't stain my table. We all had lots of fun making and displaying them in the window. You can also make freehand window stickers and they turn out good too. Even my 2 yr old granddaughter made one with a little assistance.

These are great

It was really super easy to make and they turned out super cute! The only thing I didn't like is it only comes with the dragonfly mold and if you choose to make a handprint in the mix it doesn't tell you how long it has to sit first or if you should do it right away. They make really cool crafts or cute gifts though. Just takes a little trial and error.

Kid crafting

The packaging that the plastic pieces are in wasn't packaged well. The pieces are in the box in bags with the paint, taped to cardboard. It could have been laid out better to look higher quality.
The colors of the paint for the window art are black, blue, red, yellow (.74 oz) and orange, green, pink with sparkles and purple (.34 oz) squeeze tubes. It would be nice if all of the colors were .74 oz. The smaller paint bottles go through paint faster, and run out. The tips on the paint are a little too big. The plastic window art pieces have some very small areas that you need to get paint into, which is difficult with such a large tip on the paint. It needs either a smaller tip, or a paint brush. For the larger areas, the tip works well. My 5 year old is easily able to hold the paint bottles and control them to paint, but did have difficulty with the small areas.
It takes about 18 to 24 hours for the paint to be fully dry. You could probably hang them up when they are still a little tacky and it would hold the color. The colors are nice and bright when they dry, and the sun can shine through them.
If the colors overlap as they are put on, as it dries, the colors mix (ex. Purple and yellow turn into orange.) It doesn't look like it will mix when you paint them, but as they dry, they seep together.

Fun art project

I had seen these products in the stores and was considering purchasing several for my grandchildren. When I saw this product offered for the Wal Mart Spark Reviewer program I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test the craft project with two of my granddaughters.
When I opened the box I found all of the instructions and the pieces were included. Two things I was not impressed with was the paintbrush and the gloves. The gloves were stiff and very large. Even an adults hand would not function very well in these gloves. Also the paint brush bristles were very long and stiff. I had vinyl gloves and paint brushes available for my granddaughters to use for their stepping stones.
We followed the instructions for the first stepping stone. My suggestion is do not attempt to mix the plaster in the mold itself. It is difficult for a child to mix and water and powder smoothly without it
splashing over the edge and the mixture begins to set before the plaster is fully mixed. For the other stones we mixed the plaster in a disposable container and filled the mold.
The girls enjoyed making their own creations with the stones, tiles and paints provided in the project box. We enjoyed the project and I will purchase more of these products.

Wonderful project for family project

The mix and mold stepping stones kit was a lot of fun! I do wish it came with more than one mold tray tho. We used the included mold tray and pie pans and lids.
Our first attempt did not go well tho. Our room temperature water was apparently too cold and the mold set up way too fast and we were not able to put handprints or any designs in it.
For the rest of them we used cool or warm tap water. That worked much better! We used a butter knife to mix it in a stainless steel bowl. That worked much better than the large popsicle stick that was included.
Our second mold in a pie pan lid, we put my toddlers handprint and a few of the gems from the kit in it. The other two were used to just paint on them and decorate.
We do not plan to use these as actual stepping stones. I honestly don't think they would hold up for that. Maybe as decoration in the garden but I don't know how well they would hold up to the weather.
Overall, the mix and mold stepping stones kit was easy to use and fun for mom and the kids! We are going to buy another kit now that we got the hang of it and make more!

Worst design EVER. I was so excited to do this with the kids till I opened it up we all put our mask on gloves and started mixing… my sons molded to his bowl and wouldn't let him do anything with it, my daughters made it to the tin but once we flipped it it crumbled into pieces… we tried it again it made a great mess very disappointing did not work at all ..ended up in broken pieces we never ever got to paint them cause they either would not mold or broke or wouldn't let us design them cause they dried so fast. Don't waist your money or time
