Quality pencils and 100 count

I used three pencils for the first time yesterday and was very impressed.  They were ready to work with and the color saturation was great!

Great Colors, Great Pencils

3 brand comparisons: 
I'm 40 yrs old and have taken up coloring just as a hobby. I'm not fancy but I do color within the lines and like to make colors pop.  

My first pack was Crayola 100 and I liked it but my Facebook group raves about Prismacolor 150 pack so I sprung and bought it.   The colors are more vivid but I found them to be inconsistent and not worth the money, although their reds and greens were much better, plus the silver and gold were nice.   But not worth me keeping it for the money, so back it went. 

I saw Cra-Z-art 100 pack in Walmart and decided to try it since they had metallics and pastels and I'm glad that I did! 

They have nearly identical colors to the 100 pack of Crayola PLUS metallics in gold, silver, pink and blue.   It also has nice shades of deep orange called Orange Peel and some other nice colors that crayola  doesn't have. 

Bottom line: if you're looking for vivid colors, more color options and the smoothness of Prismacolor then this is a good pack for you.   The smoothness isn't as soft as Prisma but less hard than Crayola.  

Who has better colors (based off variety/saturation)

CraZArt is better than Crayola for:
Reds, blues, greens, browns , burnt oranges/sienna, oranges and yellows. And these shades are nearly identical to Prismacolor.  
They don't have many lighter shades of pinks or purples. So go with Crayola or Prismacolor for that 

CraZArt has better metallic gold and silver than Prismacolor

Prismacolor has better neutral colors and various shades of greys than the other 2 brands but Crayola is better than CraZArt for these colors. 

Since Crayola and CraZArt 100 packs are roughly $12-$15 I'm going to stick with both over Prismacolor because I'm not that fancy and get get the vividness off Prismacolor with CraZArt when I want it. 

This is a good set.  See my photo of some random colors without having to use too much pressure to achieve boldness.   You can also outline darker and shade lighter with the shading being consistent.

Better than Crayola and similar to Prismacolor

if I could put a negative star. I would. package got delivered but when upon opening it, this is how it arrived.

POOR PACKAGING

Upon receiving my crazy art 100 pack of colored pencils. 75% of the colored pencils where broken and the other ones that where not broken will not sharpen because the lead is broken inside
