4 stars when brewed with a cheap french press, 5 stars when brewed with my fancy DeLonghi espresso machine I received as a Christmas gift. What I've learned throughout the years is the taste of the brew is reliant upon the person's handling expertise. First...make sure your grinding the beans enough but not too much. There are guides floating around out there regarding equipment and whether using a coarse or fine size is best. Second...the fresher the bean the better tasting. Third...I question your review if you're brewing out of a Keurig. Those pods are incomparable, worthless, and wasteful. If correctly and timely brewed the taste is excellent.

I've tried several different espressos over the years and in my opinion, nothing has the well balanced, depth of flavor quite like this one. This espresso in a cup of hot, steamed milk is perfect in so many ways. No need to add anything to the flavor. It has it all!!!

An excellent espresso !!

My husband and I have polar opposite taste buds and we have argued about coffee for 11 years! I b ought this to make myself espresso at home and thought nothing of it. One morning my husband ran out of his usual junk coffee and used mine! At first I was angry! But when he replenished my stock and told me he liked it i was in heaven!! Now I dont have to make two different pots of coffee ever again! And this is the best roast around hands down!! We will be happily coffeed after from now on!!

FINALLY A COFFEE WE AGREE ON!

No better way to go when you have the time to grind.  While this Espresso isn't the same as when its' brewed in an Espresso machine, it is an exceptional coffee taste to greet you in the morning.  I get the ground version when I'm in a hurry.

No better way to start the day.

Normally, I have a hard time using using up the whole 20 oz bag of beans when they are still fresh. Stuck at home, all the coffee we drink is at home.  The espresso beans make good coffee in French Press.

Got to have good coffee everyday, sometimes twice

This is a very robust coffee without a bitter taste.  It has slight undertones of chocolate and cinnamon.  I ground the beans right before I am going to use them to get the most out of the coffee.  For a treat, I will sometimes make a great froth with 2% milk, cinnamon, and vanilla as a topper; it is like paying stupid money at a high end coffee shop...just more flavorful.  You will only like this coffee is you are looking for a strong coffee; it is not a "regular" roast.

Robust

I love this coffee it is dark and rich. I was surprised it was so good I am not a fan 
of fast food brands of coffee I always like it better home made. I was thoroughly pleased with this one. Although it was past the use date posted on the package.

As an espresso drinker and spending much time in Italy I find this to be a totally American roast. Bold and like drinking campfire smoke. a bit on the bitter side for me. espresso is not a roast but the method of extraction. Any roast can be used for espresso. all in what you like. If you like it than go for it. takes a lot of steamed milk to tame it down. too much on the French roast level for me. works well for a French press or pour over. cowboy coffee for sure.

not for me

I really like the intense flavor of this, but I noticed that I was getting bad headaches after drinking it. So I switched to another flavor, headaches gone. Then I recently bought Espresso again and the headaches came back. So, I've stopped buying it. Now i buy Sumatra; no headaches. P.s. when I get an Americano and Espresso Macchiato in the store, I don't get any headaches. Only from this at-home bag. I don't know what is in this to cause headaches.

Good flavor, but gives me headaches

I am hopeful my rating will go up to a five when I try this bag but it arrived with the bag burst open and beans all over the inside of the shipping box'!
